Internal Displacement in the Gaza Strip up to October 2025 Following the Ceasefire

Since 10 October 2025, approximately 390,000 people have been re-displaced to areas north of Wadi Gaza as families continue to move in search of safety amid widespread destruction and limited essential services.
According to the figures presented, approximately 67,938 people have been killed since October 2023, including around 20,000 children. More than 170,169 people have been injured, while an estimated 10,000 remain missing. The fact sheet also records 463 deaths linked to malnutrition, including 157 children. It reports the discovery of 147 mass graves and the recovery of 324 bodies, including 91 children.
The scale of physical destruction is extensive. Around 92% of housing units have suffered total or partial damage, including more than 39,000 homes completely destroyed and over 320,000 housing units partially damaged. Approximately 90% of educational facilities require rehabilitation or reconstruction, while 89% of water and sanitation networks have been fully or partially damaged.
Despite the ceasefire, humanitarian access has remained severely constrained. Only 2,615 aid trucks reportedly entered Gaza, representing approximately 18% of pre-war levels. The figures demonstrate that displacement remains closely linked to the destruction of housing, water systems, healthcare, sanitation, and education, requiring urgent shelter assistance, restoration of essential services, and large-scale reconstruction.
